Ashton tells the LA Times that he went on something called the fruitarian diet. As you might imagine from the name, all he ate was fruit. He must not of heard the old saying "too much of even a good thing is bad". 

Kutcher divulged he adopted Steve Jobs' fruitarian diet to help him better play the computer mogul. "I ended up in the hospital two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain, and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack, which was completely terrifying, considering everything." Jobs died of complications from his battle with pancreatic cancer.

So Steve Jobs went on an all fruit diet and Doctors say that probably contributed to his pancreas developing cancer, so Ashton wanted to experience it? Demi is now lobbying her producer friends to give Ashton a role playing Jim Belushi, Elvis, or even Richard Pryor.
