I imagine Boy George was lying around his house in one of his kimono's from the mid 80's, switching channels from Bravo to Logo and accidently stumbled past a news channel that showed Mexico had just sworn in President Enrique Pena Nieto. He's the one on the left accepting power from the former President Felipe Calderon.

Boy George was smitten! And why not? The guy does look a lot like former Culture Club Drummer/Boy George boy toy Jon Moss.

Perhaps it was the Franzia talking but George decided to tweet about the fuego raging in his heart for El Presidente. 

"Mexico has a hot new president and I hope he is good for the country!"

The Mexican press, always struggling for significance, saw that a celebrity from 30 years ago had tweeted about them so they translated it in to their papers and TV shows. That translation didn't go so well. It read

"The Mexican president is a tyrant. Well, if that's true Mexico needs good wishes." 

Obviously some proud Mexican's who voted for this man, began tweeting at Boy George about their displeasure with his accusation. At that point old Georgie boy would have been well advised to contact his PR person to clarify the situation. But he chose instead to go back on twitter to announce "I will be blocking all who annoy me (mostly Mexican's) from my twitter page". I wonder how that will be translated...Anyways, Boy George's PR person has been made aware of the drama and last night issued this statement. 

George has nothing against the Mexican people and calls the whole thing a "ridiculous situation blown out of proportion about nothing. George has no political motivation or even knows anything about the candidates involved or their history, it was simply a good luck to the whole.

That's spokesperson speak for "George is ignorant and just wanted to call El Presidente 'sweet cheeks'".
