You're looking at the mug shot of Chamique Holdsclaw. Chamique was the #1 draft pick in the WNBA draft of 1999 after leading Tennessee to 3 national titles. She was booked in Fulton County Georgia 9pm last night acording to the AJC.
Jennifer Lacy, 29, who described herself as Holdsclaw’s former girlfriend, told police she was working out at a church on Ponce de Leon Avenue on Tuesday when Holdsclaw approached her and said she wanted to put some items in Lacy’s car. As Lacy drove from the church she smelled gasoline inside her vehicle and noticed that Holdsclaw was following her. Lacy said she drove to a friend’s house on Hemphill Avenue, at which time Holdsclaw got out of her car with a baseball bat and began smashing the windows in Lacy’s Range Rover, the report said. After breaking the driver’s side window, a rear passenger’s window and the rear window, Holdsclaw produced a handgun, fired inside the SUV and fled the scene, the report said.
Holdsclaw played against Lacy when Lacy was a member of the Tulsa Shock and with each other as teammates on the Atlanta Dream. Sadly the comradery of teammates and sense of love... as lovers, has died and Holdsclaw apparently wanted Lacy to die with it. This plan sounds like something that was thought up after celebrating Colorado's pot passage. Like she was hoping to break the windows to let lots of oxygen in there and then fire a shot in to the gas filled car to engulf it flames. Even if that went off perfectly, what about the people who saw her at the church or more importantly the people who saw her firing a gun at Lacy's car? For NBA fans this would be like Kobe Bryant trying to murder Shaquille O'Neal after their affair ended. Which may explain why Shaq was traded to Miami.
