I was the CMA Large Market Broadcast personality of the Year in 2000, and the Country Radio Broadcasters Large Market Broadcast personality of the Year in 2001. I grew up on a horse farm in Atlanta, Georgia! My parents and Sister own and operate Ward Stables located north of Atlanta, one of the top American Saddlebred Training facilities in the Southeast! Graduated from Colonial Hills Christian High School in 1986, Jefferson State College in 1990, and Auburn University in 1992. I'm a huge Atlanta Braves fan, and adopted the Pittsburgh Steelers as my Pro football team when I got married. I began my radio career while attending college, with my first job in radio as a sportscaster at Auburn University. (I bleed Orange and Blue! Go Tigers!)
I spend my free time playing with my Grandson Rydan, and hanging out with my husband whenever we aren't both working. I enjoy family & friends, Caribbean vacations as often as possible. Racing & horses. Christian faith. I love to help others through volunteerism:
1) Victory Junction Camp
2) Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
3) March of Dimes
4) Make-a-Wish foundation
5) American Red Cross
6) Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
7) Second Harvest Food Bank
8) Ronald McDonald House
9) Summit Church
In filming a scene trashing a motel room for his video for “More Than Miles”, he punched out a framed picture on the wall and injured his hand, requiring stitches.
Brantley said: “The director was like, ‘Alright. This is our last shot. So we’ve got to get it right now if we’re going to get it. Whatever you want to do.’ After I broke the mirror with the chair. I punched that picture on the wall and I was under the impression that it was plexiglass. It was actually real glass so I ended up with stitches that night in the Vanderbilt Hospital.”
Brantley will perform at the 48th annual ACM Awards on April 2nd. He and girlfriend Jana Kramer are both up for New Artist of the Year, against Florida Georgia Line.
