Olivia Patterson is 6 years old and lives in North Yorkshire, England. A couple of weeks ago, she was playing outside at her neighbor’s when she saw flames on the roof of her home. It was Thursday April 4th and she usually goes to her friends house after school while her 29 year old mom Laura Lee takes a nap with Olivia's siblings, 15 month old Joel James Austin and two-year-old Tiffany Rose Austin.
Olivia ran towards her house while her friends mother yelled wait and called 999.
Even at 6 Olivia knew her family didn't have time to wait on a fire department. She ran into the house and up the stairs that were already on fire, and into her mothers room to scream there's a fire. Normally the babies sleep in mom;s room but thankfully today they were already downstairs. Mom and Olivia ran downstairs and grabbed the babies as the home became completely engulfed.
Yorkshire Live reports the family lost everything in the fire, but are so thankful everyone is safe.
In the aftermath of the fire, the community has rallied to support the family, donating essential items and contributing to a crowdfund page that has raised over $6-thousand so far. Currently, the family is staying in a short-term rental while the cause of the fire is investigated and they search for more permanent housing.
