How much money is the average Columbia SC family spending on Christmas

WalletHub has just come out with their 2019 Christmas Budgets By City list, revealing which cities in the U.S. are spending the most this holiday season. They looked looking at 570 cities, judging them on such things as income, age, savings-to-monthly expenses ratio and more.

Columbia SC came in at number 446 on the list. According to their research the amount spent on Christmas here is $539. Now the question is should we be proud of this? Of course the initial response is we don't go very big for Christmas. However in 2019, the average household credit card debt is $8,602. So people in Columbia are clearly much more prudent in their spending than those in the cities spending three to five times as much!

So, who’ll be spending the most this holiday season? Well, the folks in Palo Alto, California, where the average resident’s holiday budget is around $3,160.
