Deshaun Watson has waded into the chicken sandwich war

Yesterday Popeye's re-released it's chicken sandwich. Yesterday in London former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson led the Houston Texans to victory over the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars 26-3. Deshaun was kicked in the face playing the Raiders last week. He said it was so hard he thought his eye had popped out! Having 2 eyes is very important to playing the Quarterback position (and is a nice thing to have in general) so there was great concern about his eye leading into this weeks game.

Deshaun proved that despite the eye's appearance, it was working fine as he threw 2 TD's and for over 200 yards. After the game the NFL Network reporter Melissa Stark, asked him about the eye he said “I’ll tell you the key. It was them Popeyes spicy chicken sandwiches that I ate this week that helped the eye!”

And just like that the Chicken Sandwich war is front and center again! If he really did have a Popeye's sandwich before leaving for London then he would have had special access before the public. Why? Is Deshaun an investor in Popeye's? Does Popeye's chicken sandwich really have healing powers?

And what about their mortal enemies at Chick-fil-A? If any food would have healing powers one would assume the blessed and highly favored Chick-fil-A would get that blessing.
